Description

While the term "Swing" technically refers a rhythmic style found in virtually all forms of jazz, to most people it is synonymous with the Big Bands of the 1930's and 40's. Swing combines the improvisation and rhythmic inventiveness of jazz with a popular dance form. Although most people think of the great big bands of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and others, newer bands are catering to the reemergence of swing as a popular dance style
