"Electronica" is a catch-all for artists who work primarily with electronic and computer instruments, but do not consider their music to be "techno." Although much electronica is groove-based, it is not solely intended as dance music, but also for listening. As such, artists have more freedom to experiment with more complex and dynamic forms and rhythms.
