Introduction

Each timepiece in the Time To Go collection was originally a separate application for the Apple Newton device. This web edition faithfully recreates their visual style and interactivity, translated from the original NewtonScript source code into modern HTML5 Canvas and TypeScript.

Tap or click on each timepiece to interact with it. Many timepieces support drag gestures. Click the ? button on any timepiece to see interactive help annotations.

Hints
  • Use this in any controlled parking situation — not just parking meters.
  • When you park at a broken meter, set the parking meter timer to the maximum time on the meter — many municipalities will fine if you park longer than this even at a broken meter!
  • Pay fines as soon as they arrive — they are easily lost until the late payment penalty reminds you of them. Keep stamps in your car.

Hints
Timing is accurately measured from when you tap start or stop buttons. The short delay before the display updates does not affect accuracy. This delay is part of the power saving strategy of the Newton operating system.

Note
The Metronome was a Work in Progress intended for Time To Go version 2.0, which never shipped for the Newton platform. This web edition completes the implementation from the surviving NewtonScript source.
